Option 4 use a paint roller and roll drywall mud on the entire wall and then use a large straight blade to remove excess and create a completely flat wall

In the Uk 90% of these ceiling types are all made of asbestos. Do not sand them 😳

What about when all the walls are textured. I bought a 2010 house in Texas and all the walls including the ceilings are textured.

Harbor Freight has a pole sander for $160. Buy it,use it and resell it. Cheaper than renting and no timeline.
