@teachthemtothrive: Reading to your kids has AMAZING benefits. I’m never going to tell you not to read to them. You absolutely should be reading to your child often-it’s builds language comprehension, vocabulary, is great for bonding, and more….BUT it will not teach them HOW to read. We would never expect a child to watch you play piano and then just pick it up. The same goes for reading. Reading is not something we naturally develop.
