The only problem is if it’s more than 3 units it’s now considered a conventional loan meaning you’ll need a bigger down payment I believe it is 5-6%

I may be wrong but with this economy, a house with multiple units will cost you around $500k (regardless of where you buy) so even with FHA it’s a lot

A lot of banks/credit unions only will do a HELOC on a primary home. Which means it would be base on one unit. Not all 3 units…
