Pitbull shouldn’t be an umbrella because it makes the breed look worse than it actually is . American pitbull terrier.{ apbt } is an actual breed. yes they can make really great companion dogs, but they’re also very high energy working dogs. American pitbull terriers are not for the average dog owner. These dogs were bred to have genetic aggression towards other dogs and pray. They are not supposed to be human aggressive that is undesirable in the breed. Just because they’re not recognized by the AKC doesn’t mean that their pitbull should be in an umbrella term.
