My journey to visiting all 50 US states was a long one. I had visited a handful of states throughout my childhood but once I turned 19 I had this burning urge to get out and explore more of the country, as the United States is so diverse in culture and landscapes. January 2021 I packed up my car and I hit the road and began what I thought would be a small adventure around the west coast. Little did I know that I would end up driving from coast to coast all by myself. To say I was terrified would be an understatement. I had not traveled to much on my own before and this trip was an accident, as I had no intention to do it alone. I’m so grateful that it worked out this way in the end, because the feeling of getting to the ocean and driving as far East as I possibly could, was so powerful and made me feel so capable and strong. It took me about one week to go from coast to coast and 1 month later I did it again and drove from New York to California. Driving across the country is no joke and is extremely exhausting. It takes so much mental focus and patience to sit for 10+ hours a day completely alone and navigate new cities and weather conditions.. but over coming this all and completing my second drive was even more empowering than the first time and I cried the minute I crossed the California border. Over the next year I ended up driving across the country 3 more times side to side and 2 times up and down. I covered so much land in my little Ford Escape and each time I did a new route. I was able to see so much of the country that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. As you can see, I was more inspired by some states than others based on the quality content I have from each of them 😅 Nonetheless, each time completing a solo drive made me feel like I could do anything I put my mind to, and maybe one day I’ll do it again. . . #travelblogger #traveltheworld #shetravels #traveldestinations #beautifuldestinations #outdooradventure #Outdoors #solofemaletraveler #Hiking #adventurelovers #naturelovers #budgettravel
