@curlyloveclub: let me be very clear this is not to throw stones at this commenter but to offer my perspective. 🫶🏼🤍 It is also to highlight and question this pervasive idea that a woman’s value is intrinsically linked to our fleeting youth. We’re marketed to the absolute end of the earth to believe that the further away you grow away from youth— you should feel shame? It’s worth hiding? Looking older now somehow deserves an apology? For the better part of the last decade in my real life I have faced death and the end of a human life on an almost daily basis. Most of them, not old at all. Painfully early. Devastatingly full of youth. Do you know how that possibly changes you and what you see? Irrevocably. Our bodies? Just vessels. No matter how much expensive cream we slather on ourselves or ways we try to hide and deny the inevitability of our existence. The reality is, despite how we appear on the outside, we’re never going to be as alive as we are right now. Aging is to be celebrated. It is truly the gift that is denied to so many. So let’s try and be better at celebrating that, woman to woman. Shall we? Because we only have one life and we should be so grateful for every piece of evidence our years are continuing to pass. Here’s to another year of the silver sisterhood. Happy to be here. 🤍🫶🏼✨ #silversisters #silversister #silversistersinternational #silverjourney #greyhairdontcare #greyhairmovement #greyhairjourney #greyhairtransition #greyhaircolor #greyhairrevolution #greyhairgrowout #silverhairtransition #silverhairmovement #silverhaired
