@traveltomtom: When visiting Port Louis in Mauritius, you have to go to Aapravasi Ghat, a UNESCO world heritage site in the middle of the city. Unfortunately today is Saturday and it was closed, but I learned that it was a significant place during the 'slave trade', however it was after the abolishment of the the slavery so the British called it indetured labour. Sounds still very weird to me when you ask me because although it was volunteerily apparently you didnt get paid! 😂🤷🏽‍♂️ anyway here at this port house more than 500,000 workers were processed before they were let into Mauritius and were able to go work at the sugarcane plantations. #mauritius #slavery
