At 9 weeks post-op I was finally cleared for strength training and then immediately left town for a while. 🙈 But I knew I wanted my first session back to be with my trainer, Rachel, so I made it happen in between more travels. It’s always a bit humbling coming back to strength training after surgery. Things that used to feel effortless now need my full effort again and I can feel that I’m not as strong as I was. But if there’s anything my weight loss and surgery journey have taught me, it’s patience. And I’m pretty good at it now. ☺️ We have to be kind to ourselves. Give ourselves grace when life pulls us out of our routine. Then move forward with acceptance that patience is a necessary part of the process. I might not be as strong as I once was. But someday I’ll be stronger than I’ve ever been. Patience, consistency, time. That’s the whole formula. 🙌🏻
