I believe it.. I’m Costa Rican (which obviously in America) my ancestors have always been in Costa Rica. My last name is the name of village in Costa Rica. Spain turned it into our last name to make sure we paid taxes..point of this is my family dark skinned ( not African at all) so I’m sure most of the americas looked like us
