@tannertheplanter: Holiday cactus are popular houseplants- known for their beautiful blooms which typically happens during the season they’re named after. Many people will tell you that you have to put them in a closet to get them to bloom, which isn’t true. Yes, they do like complete darkness at night while trying to flower, but the natural hours of daylight and darkness will do the trick just fine if you’ve given your plant proper light throughout the Spring and Summer. Think of flowering plants like a solar panel/battery setup, where the leaves are solar panels and the roots are the battery. The leaves need to charge the battery enough so that, come the appropriate bloom time, there’s enough stored energy to push out those beautiful blooms. Soil recipe: Equal parts houseplant soil and cactus soil. #plantsoftiktok #planttiktok #planttips
