I think it would make more sense to put on a bunch of solar where you park the vans with batteries. Fill the roof and shade that parking lot.

costs are wildly all over the place. if you can DIY & buy all parts, some 20+ panel roof systems are under 10k

Over time as solar panels become more efficient and flexible and inexpensive, I could see them built into cars in unusual places.
