I can't find the exact number but it seems like a C-130 has a stall speed of 100 knots. A carrier can probably do close to 50 mph. with the right wind I can see it happening.

Your wrong it was during the Vietnam which the carrier needed supplies and couldn’t get anything unless they landed a C-130
