@vocalhealth: Friendly reminder that “placing” your voice is a metaphor for sensations we may feel during singing. Not everyone feels things the same way, so not all placement tricks work for everyone and this video may not work for you (which is ok!!) Typically placement cues work best when your voice has already been facilitated to shift through less abstract means (vowel shifts, tongue placement, register balancing, etc etc). I have a past video outlining some of these considerations! This hand trick is a go to placement cue of mine to try on with students. Because of how general it is, it allows for shifts in placement while still dodging a particularly throaty sensation. ⚠️ It definitely doesn’t work for everyone and doesnt work for all contexts ⚠️, but when it hits, it hits. #broadway #musicaltheater #singer #opera
