I’m a professional medical interpreter and within the field we say “seguro” but some clients say “a/seguranza” even if they don’t speak English!

My parents have always used azeguranza but only when talking about car or home insurance. For any sort of medical insurance we say seguro

seguro for most things, but for some reason we say asegurarse or aseguransa for cars. I wonder why 🤔? I grew up in Texas with Mexican parents.

I will def start using seguro as well. I’ve always used aseguranza bc my mom did. I now am an insurance broker in central California 🤣

i use aseguranza y seguro, in that order. I make an active effort to use seguro more now. I grew up in San Diego, CA.

I had a AP SPANISH teacher teach “aseguranza” I was one of two native speakers & I had to tell her it wasn’t correct. It’s one of my pet peeves.
