First I've heard of grinding a snap ring on a bench grinder. Machining a little off pressure plate is better idea.

Take a handful of the non painted rings to a machine shop.

I would use a grinder and a brown rolock. same as yours steels. no hate just different approach same result

I run a surface grinder send me a box of them and specs ill grind them for you quick. Theyll be in the mail longer than anything

Parts are not limited. They are ordering less then what the demands are. By doing this they keep pricing higher. Inventory control less taxes to pay.
