A GravaStar (from gravitational vacuum condensate star) is a hypothetical ultra-compact cosmic object considered as a possible alternative to a black hole. The idea was proposed by Pavel Mazur and Emil Mottola in the early 2000s. Unlike a typical black hole, a gravistar in the original model lacks a singularity and a true event horizon. It is assumed that within such an object there is a region of vacuum energy with negative pressure, approximately described by the relation (p = -\rho ). This inner region resembles de Sitter space and, due to its properties, prevents further gravitational collapse. Around it is an extremely thin and dense shell that separates the inner vacuum from outer space. From the outside, a gravistar may be virtually indistinguishable from a black hole: its gravitational field can be so strong that it would be extremely difficult for a distant observer to distinguish between the two objects. The central idea of the theory is that during the collapse of a massive star, instead of forming a singularity, a phase transition can occur, followed by the formation of a vacuum core and shell, stabilizing the object and preventing it from becoming a classical black hole. Therefore, gravistars are particularly interesting in the context of problems related to singularities and the black hole information paradox. Theoretically, it would be possible to distinguish a gravistar from a black hole by observable effects: for example, by the characteristics of gravitational waves during a merger, possible gravitational wave "echoes," differences in tidal deformability, or the behavior of matter around the object. However, to date, there is no convincing observational evidence for the existence of gravistars. Furthermore, various gravistar models face problems of stability, the need for unusual properties of matter, and the question of how exactly such objects could form in nature. Therefore, at present, a gravistar is an interesting, but still speculative, theoretical concept at the intersection of general relativity, quantum field theory, and the physics of ultra-compact objects, rather than an established type of cosmic object. #blackhole #theory #scary #physics

I remember operators from the ‘90s expressing their affection for E1, quirks and all. It’s truly heartwarming to see how much love we all share for this route, even after we’ve moved on. 🙌 And to those from 2009-2012 who fondly remember E1, I cherish the times we spent together; it’s bittersweet to have left you! ❤️ #E1Memories #BusRoutes #RouteLife #Nostalgia #Operators
