@madamofmaking: Final Video & Reveal!! Lets Make a Pair of Wings Part 4 . This is my first time making anything like this before, but when my daughter asked for a pair of Angel Wings that she could wear to #renfaire and #comiccon I knew I wanted to try and make something amazing for her. . In Part 1 I built the metal frame out of my broken patio umbrella Part 2 I figured out how to wrap the frame segments creating a base to attach the feathers to Part 3 I showed you how I made the Primary feathers and today Im putting all the pieces together. . I knew this part would take the longest because I had to carefully and strategically attach all the strips of feathers layer by layer. I need to make sure each segment had good coverage but had to do it in a way the the segments could still move freely letting the wings open and close easily. . I found the best pivot point and added strong white straps to the screws at that point so that she could hook them with her thumbs, stretch her arms and the wings would fully open. This keeps her arms and hands free but she can quickly transition to open the wings at any time. .
