Quick tip, tie a short rope to bottom of the ladder so you can pull it down easy

As much as that POS cost you should be able to move your foot under the ladder and it opens itself like the rear hatch on my wife’s Jeep 🤨

Yep same here on our x9’s took a bar and bent hook down 1/4 inch to get latch lined up. Now when i turn latch it pops out and much easier to pull down

I always reach behind the panel and pull down on the linkage. For sure a pain. Lol.
