Let’s get into the nitty gritty! Here is your WHY for the previous video! ✅We want our children to be intrinsically motivated to eat and try new foods, not because it pleases us, the caregiver. A bit of praise is okay, we talking “over the top”. Read your baby, you’ll know best. ✅Remove spoon parallel to floor: when spoon feeding your baby, you might think you need to swipe up when removing the spoon from baby’s mouth in order to prevent the food from coming out with the spoon. 🥄 But this can be irritating to the roof of baby’s mouth and it doesn’t teach them how to use a spoon properly. The next time you use a spoon, observe - do you swipe it up? No, you close your lips around the spoon to drag the food off. This is how we want babies to practice eating! They might not close their lips around the spoon right away but give them time to learn how to do this! ✅Respect fullness cues: babies are born with an amazing ability to eat the right amount of food for their growth, activity, and developmental needs. We want to be careful not to try and override their fullness cues by encouraging babies to take another bite or spoonful of food just to finish what’s in their bowl. Which tip do you find the hardest to implement? Let us know in the comments! 💾 Save and Share with other parents! 🍉 Follow @happyhealthyeaters for more baby and toddler feeding and nutrition tips #feedingtips #parentingtips #newmomsupport #screens #startingsolids #toddlertips #happyhealthyeaters #winnipegdietitian #winnipegmom #yycmom #wpgmom #blw6months #blw7months #8montholdbaby #9montholdbaby #10montholdbaby #weaningtips #blwindia #babyledweaningindia #indianmom #desimomtips #howtofeed #babydietitian #babyled #puree #spoonfeed #selffeeding #parenting101 #feedingbaby #momlife #MomsofTikTok #momtok #babyfoods #dietitiansoftiktok #dietitian
