agree 100%. we used a bassinet until he was 5 months and he went to his crib. we had monitors but not the cameras, I had to have the camera!

Yes we did not purchase a single big ticket item!! Family and coworkers did. So blessed. Got a 6-1 bed from mother in law. So lucky.

Word of advice if you plan to use your crib as a toddler bed, buy the railing when you get the crib in case they change the design slightly

Big ticket items are also great as group gifts. A few of my cousins chipped in together and bought my few hundred dollar rocking chair. So worth it.
