@hairmakesupbee: I want to be clear this is not to attack the commenters… It’s to highlight the narrative that we women need to chase our fleeting youth and that we aren’t allowed to wear something we love because we’re older. We have been brainwashed by beauty standards to believe that we aren’t allowed to wear certain hairstyles, clothes, accessories, etc. past a certain age. While I do believe our taste in such things evolves with age, I’m certainly not going to allow aging to determine if I wear curls in my hair today or a headband 30-40 years from now. Aging is something to celebrate! It’s a privilege that’s denied to so many. Ladies let’s try to encourage each other to celebrate that! #aging #aginggracefully
