We take excellent care of our barn cats and they live the dream but unfortunately they are at huge risk. It is so upsetting when one disappears. 😢

So sorry about Molly. I'm assuming she was spayed, so that's not it. Cats do go off & hide when they're not feeling well. I hope she comes home.

I used to volunteer with a TNR rescue, we'd place cats with farmers for barn cats, there are so many risks for the cats but in comparison 1/2

people dropped kittens off at the end of our road so much we'd have between 5 and 20 cats they had shelter but they'd disappear too 🥺

Can you try alternatives like Owls? I know some farmers have habitats for them & they keep the pop down. (Obviously the cats need to be indoors then)

I have very well cared for TNR kitties on my farm and we have lost two kitties. It’s always so sad. So sorry about your loss 💔

Very true the dogs do a great job of defending from within the perimeter but cats will be cats hoping for the best😃

For those interested, there are GPS collars for cats. Tractive is the one we use for the barn cats.
