🇰🇷 learning korean be like… 🤡🤡🤡 I was stuck in the intermediate level for about 3-4 years. Some people might assume it’s because I wasn’t studying “correctly” or because I’m not very smart. The actual reason? I had other priorities. The first 2 years I was still in university trying to manage my course load, part-time job, and full-time job search while still finding time to enjoy my hobby of learning Korean. Studying Korean was a luxury I didn’t get to indulge in very often. I was lucky if I had the time AND energy to fit one study session into my week. I hate when learners feel guilty about not having time to put into studying or using Korean. It’s okay for Korean to not be at the top of your priority list. It’s okay for you to take longer than expected to go from beginner to intermediate or intermediate to advanced. You only have 24 hours in your day and if most of that time is spent at school or work and taking care of your other responsibilities, there’s nothing to feel guilty about. 👹 Side Rant On a similar note, I hate when people ask how long you’ve been learning Korean and what your level is as a way to size you up ☠️ Like why do people do that? The funny part is, people that are actually good at Korean never ask this question… And if they do, it’s because it’s relevant to the conversation and their tone makes it clear it’s out of a genuine interest and not because they’re wanting to one up you ☠️☠️☠️ #korean #learnkorean #studykorean #learningkorean #koreanstudy #studygram #koreanlearning #studyingkorean #language #koreanstudygram
