I didn’t know how much this would change me. 🤍 At the beginning of this year, my goal was simple: run a 5K. Then my friends said, “What if we did a sprint triathlon?” And apparently I said, “Sure, why not?” 😂 So my first-ever race became a swim + bike + run. I was intimidated. I had never trained for a race before. I had never had a goal like this that I was working toward. And there were definitely days when getting up at 4:45 AM before my kids were awake to train felt really, really hard. But I kept showing up. And somewhere along the way, something changed. I started trusting myself more. I started feeling proud of myself. I started realizing that doing something hard doesn’t make you less capable—it shows you just how capable you actually are. And one of the best parts? I got to do it with my best friends. We trained together. We struggled together. We had good days and really hard days. We grew together. And honestly, I think that made all the difference. There is something so special about working toward a goal with people you love and getting to look back and say, “We actually did that.” I wanted to document this because I never want to forget how hard I worked for this. Not just the race. The early mornings. The tired days. The days I didn’t feel like showing up. The days I chose to show up anyway. Because this taught me something I want to carry with me: Showing up for myself is non-negotiable. Taking care of myself matters. Keeping promises to myself matters. Doing hard things matters. And maybe I’m a little addicted now to 4:45 AM workouts with my friends because starting the day that way makes me feel SO good. 🥹 If you’ve been thinking about doing something that scares you, let this be your sign: You are so much more capable than you think you are. Start scared. Start unsure. Start before you feel ready. Just start. Part 1: Training. 🏊🏼‍♀️🚴🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️ Part 2: Race Day is coming. 🤍 #triathlontraining #ugccreator #fitnessugc
