@mikelanda_fit: How to PROPERLY do a Pull Up (GROW A WIDER BACK) Important cues i like tk do before even starting the lift ✅ practice hanging scapular retractions. These belp with the mind muscle connection. ✅ bend the bar by twisting your forearms inward (right arm clockwise, left arm counter) ✅ imagine there is a string between your sternum, and the pull up bar. Youwant to bring your sternum as close to the pull up bars as possible ✅ angle your body at a 30° angle so you can pull your chest to the bar Mistakes to avoid: ❌ not engaging your lats and pulling with your biceps. (This is why we do scapular retractions) ❌ swinging your body to get to the top. Use the assistant pull up bar machine, or use bands to help you with the positive portion (pulling up) of the lift ❌ choosing to wide of a grip.
