Despite having crushed almost 7 hours of riding, Aubrin Sage wanted to show me this trio of little secret paths she found and linked together earlier in the day when riding with mom so on our last run back to the car she took me on this little follow-the-leader moment. All I could think of as we exited that last secret path through the trees was ‘damn, she’s turned up her agility and board control another notch!” It takes a lot of split-second micro-processing to read terrain at speed and be tossing your board and body back and forth to follow the tight contours of these little serpentine paths through the trees. I think there’s a pivotal moment when young snowboarders evolve from being reactive to what their snowboard is doing to being proactive and totally in control of the snowboard. Once that switch happens, the sky’s the limit! Keep crushin’ baby girl!❤️
