To be clear I think the biggest thing is avoiding thermal shock so thaw in fridge in a bowl also.

I got a silicone cube thing and freeze that and pop them out and out them in a plastic bag each one is around a half a cup

I put it in jars hot with lids and they seal. good for months in the fridge.
