JiuJitsu1331 :
Chris I have build up on a lodge cast iron pan. What tools do I use to get that build up off.

Where do I buy the seasoning that you use for your cast-iron skillets?

Pretty sure I seen that original post and I believe he said he wanted to make it smooth.

Heathen Customs :
I know I have done that to a few because they no longer "finish" them. they used to grind out the bumps from the casting process in house but stopped.

I've seen a few from that era ground in the same area. Might have been the factory cleaning up rough casting.

I reseasoned a pan following your vids. 5 or 6 rounds w/grapeseed oil. Looked great. First cook/wash and the seasoning scrubbed right off. Any ideas?

So curious I see people hating the coating on the new lodge? How would you go about removing it so it’s more of a smooth surface

Definitely needed for the cheap ones to smooth out the bottom of the pan as the manufacturers do not do that.

Brass wire wheel would work yeah? It’s softer than the cast iron

As you know, this is an endless argument. They will insist grinding is a good thing, no matter what.
