For years in the Corps I did 20 sets of 3 every day. At 220lbs I was able to do 19 pull ups. This method is effective.

Using this method, my PB was 10 reps with 90lbs around my waist. One rep, 10 sets. I was able to rep out 75 pull-ups in one set with body weight.
