The main thing being (and the mind set here is DEFINITELY from like millenials and younger) but non cash tips get taxed or split to the company. It’s like a major point of focus for the younger gens

One more thing. Those people work on cruise ship leave their family months at a time. Base pay is not that much. the Gratuity is what help and why they are willing to take B.S from rude passengers.

As a waiter in my younger years, I support and provide my family from tips. I always tips on top what the cruise already added. Pay it forward.

Bet there is a chunk of gratuities that the workers don’t see. Just the cruise lines taking money for themselves. I’ll hand the worker the cash myself. I’ll know for certain that they get to keep 100%
