@calebscrew: Caleb and I had another interview yesterday. Once again, the focus on Dreaming Big and living a “No Limits” life. We talked about perceptions, disability, A-bility, expectations, and mindset. When Caleb was young, we had the good fortune to have some amazing mentors; both parents and individuals with disabilities. They shared with us their experiences, their knowledge, their resources. Forever grateful for their support early on, which helped set the tone for Caleb’s life. We wrote a Mission Statement for him, with goals and dreams. We shared it with his teachers and therapists. Anyone engaged in his life. Turns out, those dreams and goals weren’t any different than those of his siblings. The PATH was, but the dreams themselves were similar. And now here we are, on the cusp of adulthood. It happened in a blink of an eye, but thankful for friends who helped set the stage for the next steps in the journey. Parents of little ones - dream big! And then set the goals - the steps - to get there. Living a “no limits” life. It takes work and support, but it’s possible.
