It may seem petty but we cant be over ratio and if you give an inch, some will take a mile 🥺

But if she was 2 minutes late, it would be “oh it’s only 2 minutes”. Joys of childcare. 😂

My anxiety of wondering if the employee would get there on time would have me freaking out too to be honest. As a nurse I've had colleagues no show(1)

if you need to drop him off before 8 to be on time for work, then you need to book an early start 😅

I’m always so surprised how strict you are with ratios in these videos, is it just for the story or are things really that strict where you’ve worked?

And this is why my center asks employees to arrive 10 min before their shift. I would NEVER do this to a parent.

as a parent wouldn't you book in at 7/730 so you don't have to worry about stuff like being late?

Haven't been a teacher for a year now but damn, if I had 1-3 ratio in kindergarten, I would've been much more at ease

Yeah but they should be there 10 minutes b4 the shift bc not everyone walks in on the dot. Being 2 minutes early is reasonable and should be staffed

Every job I’ve had expected staff to arrive 15min before their shift starts. Is that not a thing in the UK?

I’m on purple hairs side with this. I was always ten to 15 minutes early to work. Two minutes is nothing.

I think this might be a difference in UK vrs US. Here it is expected you arrive and clock in 5-10 min before shift. Unwritten rule

I mean, the center should have scheduled the employee at 7:45 or 7:30 if they know the child is dropped off at 8. I also work at a daycare.

I guess the American daycares are different. I was just told what time they open for drop off. I would find it frustrating to forced to wait.
