I recently lost my best friend, and it feels like a piece of my heart is missing. Anyone who knows me knows Kafi is my heartbeat. In 2017 my family rescued Kafi, and we fell in love with him so fast that we couldn’t remember what life was like before him. It’s so hard to talk about him in the past tense but Kafi was the sweetest dog I’ve ever met. Everyone who met him fell in love with him. He was absolutely perfect, and I can’t believe I got to share a timeline with him. I’m going to miss his personality the most. He was so funnyyyy, and he had the most vicious side eye. He would go to war for just one banana slice, and he wouldn’t leave your side if he sensed you were sick or hurt. He was so weird too like, what dog do you know is basically begging for you to put a scarf on him? He would chase you for miles if you took off his scarf. I love that about him though. His favorite place was anywhere his family was. If we were ever standing in a group talking he would come and lay right in the middle of it. A true love bug. As many of you know, he’s been sick for a few years with cushings disease. It’s too long and painful to hash out every single detail, but after several rounds of medications and vet visits he went peacefully. There’s a hole in my heart where Kafi used to be, but I’m thankful he’s a peace now.
