@chonkygrompy: The way I paint with the squeegee is heavily inspired by silk-screen methods and building layers of colours and shapes. And the tool I use to pull the paint makes all the difference. If you are in search of a painting tool for yourself, here are some ideas: 1️⃣ If you are just making some squeegee paintings for fun over a weekend with kids or friends, perhaps an old credit card, a heavy paper, or a good old sink squeegee we all have in our household will do the trick. 2️⃣ If you want to test more “artist-y” tools, you can explore the wide range of silk-screens squeegees out there. They come in different materials and sizes, and they will behave differently depending on the canvas you are painting on. 3️⃣ And if you want to bring your squeegee game to the next level, you can get some professional paint scrapers. My absolute favourite is the Catalyst Wedge W-06, from @Princeton Brush The Catalyst wedge was a recommendation of my dear friend @aclaracris (follow her, her work is awesome), and it is definitely the best tool I have. It leaves no marks on the paper, and the layer of paint is the smoothest result I get. The only challenge I have with this one is its width of about 10 cm. So I usually combine it with a wider silk-screen tool when I need the coverage area to be larger. — On a side note, in this composition I explored how to use the tape in more interesting ways than just making my margins.
