If main breaker back feeds amps to power lines and worker electrocuted doing repairs you are liable. That’s why transfer switch needed.

Yes it will work but the first thing I recommend before doing this is to jerk out your meter base to ensure no back feed! Breakers do mess up!

Must have a generator with a bonded neutral not a floating one or the current will “hunt” to find a return and cause a fire.

I’ve seen multiple people, including myself in the northeast, just hook into your your 220 dryer outlet and power the majority of the house.
