@rapidresponse911: On August 4, 2020, a catastrophic explosion occurred in the port area of Beirut, the capital city of Lebanon. The explosion was caused by the detonation of approximately 2,750 tons of improperly stored ammonium nitrate, a highly explosive substance, that had been stored in a warehouse for several years. The blast resulted in widespread destruction, causing extensive damage to buildings and infrastructure in the vicinity, and was felt over a large area of the city. The explosion led to a significant loss of life, with at least 218 people confirmed dead, thousands injured, and many more displaced from their homes. It exacerbated an already dire economic and political crisis in Lebanon, leading to further public outcry and protests against the government's handling of the situation.

What was the catalyst though? I know for tannerite it’s aluminum mixed with ammonium nitrate but also has to be struck at subsonic speed
