I was told with perfectly made threads you don’t need tape, we would test bare threads to 400psi. not sure why there would be a code for tape??

Here in the us, in my state there is no code specifying teflon wraps, but I have read on a few different brands that 3 is the minimum

I’ve always done 8 wraps on everything. Brass, Polly, metal. I’m just an irrigation farmer but it usually works😂

PTFE tape is a thread lubricant not for sealing pressurised fittings but you’re only plumbers I suppose….
