Have you ever been pressured into purchasing or desiring something, only to ask yourself at some point... do I even really like this? I think we’ve all known the pressure to conform to trends. Almost everyone is victim —consciously or unconsciously— of this phenomenon. Most of us follow the same trends in clothing, jewelry, lifestyle, beauty standards and more. This dynamic worked backwards for the Cartier Love bracelet and me: something that for my personal taste I might have loved since day one, I couldn't appreciate because it felt so mainstream and I didn't know its story. I liked its design: simple, sleek, essential, classic, and timeless. But seeing it on everyone and their dog took its quality away, to my eyes. I have always loved vintage jewellery because 9 out of 10 times, vintage means unique. To my eyes, The Cartier Love bracelet didn’t really represent this quality… until I saw the legendary Nail bracelet on the cover of a book sitting on the coffee table of my favorite jewellery, and I started flipping through its pages and reading. It was a book about the jewellery designer Aldo Cipullo, who fathered both the iconic Love and the Nail bracelet in the 70s. Talking with Juan, the maestro jeweller who works there, I discovered the Cartier Love bracelet has quite the story… and it’s an Italian one. And today, Cipullo’s Love bracelet is one of my most beloved pieces of jewelry #ald#aldocipullortierlove #vin#vintagejewels #70sdesign#70sdesignelet #italianjewelry @Cartier
