internal repair wouldn't you need to change the oil when done if take oil pan off to do repair so it would be included in the repair

I'll give an oil change away to get a car on the rack and inspect it. nobody comes in the lane for a loose tie rod or a brake fluid flush.

Most European cars need special oil, that's why they are so expensive. VW and Audi use a special oil it's green in color. Green the color of $$$.

Well I worked in a independent shop. And oil change and inspection I would find many things that need service. On older cars of course not 5k service

I would say more like 20%, 80% of the time most engine work is just oil leak repairs.

Oil changes get more expensive for the shop when the lowest paid tech causes an oil out with a loose filter or drain plug and destroys an engine.

as a Toyota tech I can confirm that there are days we all do just oil changes. nobody likes those days.

jiffy lube doesn't even make money changing oil they're goal is to get customers on filters bulbs additional flushes etc

heard of a lithia lifetime ? it covers 48$ LOF (all brands and models) shops average loss is 100$ per LOF yet they still sell it 🙄

“Loss-leader” can be a problem , especially for Ma and Pa shops, only so many mechanics, bays, and billable hours .
