@warinhd: During the Tet Offensive at 2:47a.m on January 31st, 1968. Nineteen Vietcong commando’s explosively breached the granite wall surrounding the US Embassy in Saigon and began their assault. 1 Marine and 4 Army MP’s would lose their lives in this attack. The Vietcong would hold a sector of the compound for 6 hours until they were all KIA. One Vietcong tried to evade his pending doom and ended up in the house of George Jacobson, the assistant of the US Ambassador. Ohhhhh and George was a retired US Army Colonel who fought in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam so he had a just a little bit of experience to say the least. After the ordeal General Westmoreland later presented Jacobson with the AK-47 mounted with a plaque reading "A VC fired this weapon and missed. The Colonel fired back and didn't." 🥶#vietnam #war #combat #footage #History #tet #offensive #1960s #interview #documentary #warzone #real #stories #military #education #saigon #us #usa #fyp #fypシ #fy #f #CapCut
