If I Won the Lottery
If I won the lottery, oh what a day,
I’d lift up my sons in the best kind of way.
First, I'd pay for the dreams they hold in their hearts,
To study, to grow, to master their arts.
One wants to heal, so I'd build a fine place—
A hospital shining with kindness and grace.
He’d wear his white coat with passion and pride,
Helping the sick with me by his side.
The other, so bright, with a dream of his own,
Deserves the chance to find his true zone.
I'd gift him the choice to follow his star,
To chase his career, no matter how far.
For someone I love who longs just to roam,
I’d give them the freedom to fly far from home—
To wander through cities, to dance in the rain,
To find joy in sunsets and peace on a plane.
As for myself, I’d buy a sweet space,
A house by the sea, my own quiet place.
Where waves sing songs and worries are few,
Where the sky meets the ocean in shimmering blue.
But my dream wouldn’t end with just joy for me,
I'd open a shelter for those who can't see
A way out of struggle, a light in their storm—
A place they feel safe, secure, and warm.
I’d help them find work, rebuild their way,
So hope could return and forever stay.
With what’s left, I’d travel to lands far and near,
With gratitude filling each step of the year.
And I'd build a church, to honor God's hand—
For none of this life would go as I planned
Without His mercy, His love so true—
He opened the door, and I walked through.
So if I won the lottery, it wouldn't just be
About riches and treasures and living carefree.
It would be about love, about giving and grace,
And lifting up others to find their own place.
