@thefrenchiegardener: Did you know you can reuse old soil to grow new plants? 🌿 Yes, the soil you used for growing in summer can be used to grow your fall & winter varieties! But indeed this soil may now lack of nutrients so you need to enrich it again. 💚 STEP ONE Remove the existing plants and weeds. Rake the surface to loosen the soil 💚 STEP TWO Dig holes or a trench in your container and bury in there organic matters such as decomposed food scraps, coffee grounds & worms castings. This will bring new nutrients to your soil. 💚 STEP THREE Cover back and add some new soil on top of the soil. This will make sure to have a fresh topsoil to welcome the new seedlings. I used here coco soil without peat. 💚 STEP FOUR Water well, let it drain and plant your new seedlings. I planted there 6 seedlings of winter lettuce, well spaced so that they have room to grow and develop. If you saw slugs recently, protect your new seedlings with cups or a lid at night. If you learnt something, please share to educate others! Green Love to you 💚 #gardeningtips #soil #growyourownfood #urbangarden #tipsandtricks #howto
