@chrisedoria: This is how you properly convert your 401k into a Roth IRA. This needs to be done strategically since when converting your 401k, you will now need to pay taxes on the conversion. (Because you won't pay taxes when you retire). So what you need to do, is slowly convert amounts every single year so you don't push yourself into higher tax brackets upon conversion. ------------------------------- ***Disclaimer: The information provided on this post does not, and is not intended to, constitute financial advice; instead, all information, content, and materials available on this post are for general informational & entertainment purposes only. #entrepreneurs #business #investing #finance #financial #investments #financialfreedom #moneyhacks #inflation #money #taxhacks #llc #taxdeductions #fyp #fyop #business #401k #retirement #roth #conversion #ira #rothira #roth401k

Should someone who earns over 200k put their money into a Roth instead of the 401k?

Isn’t there a $7K annual cap for Roth IRAs and required to make less than a certain amount annually to participate

When you say concert over the year, do you mean putting money in different roth IRA per year to minimize the taxes payed per year when moving money??

If your company offers a 401k with Roth contributions you’re better off starting with that. Mine didn’t until later so I have pre tax money and after tax money in my 401k

You would have to make sure you know your portfolio and know how to allocate as you did in your 401k. That’s a bit of a chore up front but it can be done. Especially with help or do it yourself
