Please read and share. NAFDAC just revealed something that broke my heart. People are now using BLEACH to ferment cassava for the production of FUFU. Yes, BLEACH. The same chemical you use to wash clothes and toilet. HOW IT WORKS: They add bleach to cassava because it has a spontaneous reaction. It makes the cassava very soft very fast so they can ferment fufu within 1 day instead of 3-4 days. But it doesn’t stop at bleach. While reading comments, people are also saying they use: DETERGENT, NAILS, PARACETAMOL, BITTER LEAF, POTASH, KEROSEN and other dangerous substances to make cassava soften faster for fufu. This is no longer speculation. People see it in their daily lives. Mainly in FUFU processing. Not just garri. NAFDAC also noted that the same thing is happening with PAP. Chemical substances are being used to process it too. THE TRUTH: THESE CHEMICALS ARE KILLING US The use of: Bleach, Detergent, Nails, Paracetamol for fermenting Cassava in processing Fufu are VERY VERY DANGEROUS TO HEALTH. When you eat fufu made with these things, you are eating: 1. Kidney and Liver poison - Your organs will fail slowly 2. Stomach destroyer - Ulcers, internal bleeding, cancer 3. Slow death - You won’t know until it’s too late Myself, I like eating fufu. But not knowing that I have been eating POISON all this while. WHAT MUST HAPPEN NOW We are praying NAFDAC will regulate this fully. If companies can be in power to PACKAGE FUFU under NAFDAC supervision, that will be the best for Nigeria.
