No. Absolutely not. This ideology of not "venting/complaining" about your relationship struggles to anyone is extremely isolating, and abusive. Talking about your relationship struggles with OTHER people is how people realize they're being manipulated, in an ABUSIVE relationship. And can get the help they need to escape them. It is EXTREMELY harmful to tell people they can't reach out when they're hurt, or feeling upset by their partner. An outside perspective is absolutely CRUCIAL

A couple of these are really controlling and based on insecurityโฆ turning to someone else for needs sounds like community? Also, maintaining contact with exes can be very healthy and pretty common once youโre a little older. Just got to be transparent about it.
