So. Ive been a pool tech for 18 years now working for my fathers business. Using gray PVC cement (preferably pool heavy) is a very HOT debate between me and my father (who has been doing pool work for going on 40 years now) he’s used to using simple clear pvc cement, and I get it, it’s cleaner looking. However, there’s been plenty of times we just finished plumbing and turned on the equip and plumbing blows apart, and just the fact that heavy-bodied cement will just last longer and give you a much better connection. But he gets pissed at me everytime I want to use it because he hates how it looks and having to give it just a little bit more time erks him beyond belief 😅

The 90 creates cavitation in the water flow which in turn surges the pump flow which can damage the pump impeller

I will recommend sweep 90s also try Christy's pool pro pvc glue it goes clear after a while
