@thepcosmentor: Trying to lose weight, belly fat in particular can be a real challenge when you have PCOS. As I mentioned so many times before, the hormonal imbalances of PCOS, specifically high insulin & androgens cause you to store more of your weight around your tummy area. Which is also why losing it from this area can be so darn hard. This is where things like L-Carnitine & Chromium can be so helpful. Not only has research found they both help with weight loss & lowering BMI, but they’ve also been shown to help correct the UNDERLYING hormonal issues driving the weight gain in the first place!! This is why they can help you with belly fat. Now, you can’t spot reduce fat, meaning you cannot pick & choose where you lose your weight but as I mentioned, because of how hormones play such a driving role here, improving your hormonal balance helps with these stubborn areas. L-Carnitine & Chromium should obviously also be part of a more holistic weight loss plan which I have HEAPS of content on throughout my page or just shoot me a comment on this post or a DM or email. High chromium foods include; grape/orange juice, beef, apples or green beans. Or, look into supplementing with a high quality chromium picolinate or PCOS Weight Control or Balance.
