@2pcfishmeal: Replying to @TastelessTony Low IQ iowans supporting 2X OWI champion Kim Reynolds who committed fraud twice with millions of dollars in federal COVID funds meant for Iowans that she funneled to bonuses for her personal staff and a company run by one of her personal staff. As lieutenant governor under Branstad in 2016, Reynolds was part of Iowa Medicaid privatization, which turned healthcare coverage for ~650,000 disabled Iowans into a source of corporate profit. Since then, she has continued to support privatization, despite promises of better care and cost savings not materializing, and in fact providers have since struggled more to get paid for seeing Medicaid patients, leading to fewer providers accepting Medicaid patients, leading to decreased access to care. Again, this is all so some corporations can profit. Pushed highly unpopular private school subsidies for years, to the point she actively supported GOP challengers against incumbents who were against her private school subsidies. She was finally able to get this signature legislation passed, and almost immediately private schools increased their tuitions in response. Multiple publicity stunts of sending state troopers and Iowa's National Guard to Texas. Basically spending Iowans' tax money to rile up her base and get her name in the news. Sending manpower to the border temporarily isn't going to solve any problems long-term, and Reynolds using state funds to do this shows a questionable understanding of the roles of state vs federal government. Completely revamped Iowa's tax code in a way that the richest will benefit the most, at the expense of the poorest. Hiding from the press: refusing to respond to Iowa journalists' FOIA requests as required by Iowa law. Lost court cases when those journalists took legal action after Reynolds didn't comply with the law for around a year and a half. Refuses to support legal recreational cannabis in Iowa because, as an alcoholic, she has insight to the dangers of...cannabis?
