![[long caption – my thoughts on chishiya's character and all the comments on it.] people claim chishiya doesn't care at all, how he's unserious and cold. but do people get why's his character (in the series, i didn't read the manga btw) like that? chishiya is pediatrician/doctor for kids. his job requires helping sick kids. chishiya was happy to see his patient healing and being better, but then bribe came and his authorities made him drop his previous patient in case to help the one that gave extra money. after that case, more bribes and more money was coming. it was either to loose his job, or do as he's sad, no matter does he like it or not, which he obviously didn't like because he didn't care about money. chishiya realised that his profession, and his co-workers don't value life. all that matters is money, if you're poor your life isn't valuable, you value by how your material status is. by the time he gave up and realised how he should turn off his emotions and do as his job says, he lost hope in people, and he knew even in borderlands people would value only their life – they'd backstab people in case to survive. people are also rather more sad when someone Rich, who can provide them dies, than someone with no money who cannot really give much. and that's why he got softer after the beauty contest game... people were confused why is he suddenly caring. he saw there are still people that stand up for equality and that share same mindset as him. he saw there's still good in people, he showed numbers he picked, so he could easily die if game's master wanted to win. but even with 100% possibility of winning, the game master still let him win. chishiya saw good in people so it made him realise not everyone's the same.](/video/cover/7186741343157357829.webp)
