ONE MONTH of being an amputee! 💫 I can’t quite believe it’s been one month already. One month down and closer to getting a leg and working towards what I’ve been yearning for for so many years! 🥾🧗⛰️🏃🏽‍♀️🏋🏽‍♀️👟 Today was my first day back in the gym and it felt amazing! It’s going to be fun learning how to make adaptations to how I work out and I’m ready for it! 💪🏼 Headed to the beach for the first time this week thanks to my lovely friend and it was DELIGHTFUL to be back to one of my favourite places in my home town. ☀️🏖️ I’ll be very much looking forward to putting my toes back in the ocean - didn’t try that one just yet. 🦶 Had a driving assessment this week too to try out and sign me off using a left foot accelerator which meant that after weeks of car shopping, I could confidentially put a deposit down on a new ride this week as well - YAY!! I can’t tell you how excited I am to have some independence back and for some new wheels with a left foot accelerator just for me! 🚗 Also had a wound check with the surgeon who was very happy which meant I also was very happy! My incision is looking great and all is going to plan 😀 Followed that up with a little treat night away in the loveliest hotel in Leeds @dakotahotelsuk - can’t wait to stay again. The next couple of weeks will involve a couple more physio sessions, hopefully a confirmed appointment with the prosthetics team (which should give me more of an idea on when I’ll get a leg EEK!), a new car and me getting back into a gym routine WAHEY! . . . . #newbeginnings #amputationjourney #ankleinjury #limbloss #amputeelife
